Marike Botha graduated at the University of Stellenbosch in 2013 with the degree B.Occupational Therapy.
After completing her community service year in the Northern Cape working in various fields, she started working as a Quality of Life Leader at a specialised Dementia and Memory Care Facility. Here she predominantly focused on integrating clients with Dementia into care facilities, assisted with care provider training and ensured that residentsā€™ level of care was up to standard and quality of life promoted.
She then moved on to working in private practice treating patients with predominantly neurological deficits and orthopaedic conditions in a rehabilitative setting.
She has always had a passion for mental health and opened her own private practice in 2017 in Durbanville working specifically in the mental health care field. She has a special interest in Old Age Psychiatry and has, over the past 7 years, dedicated her knowledge and skill set towards promoting quality of life of individuals within this specific field.
